ICC
and Kaplan Pool Resources
May, 2004
Test preparation leader Kaplan, Inc., and ICC have formed
a strategic partnership to provide industry-leading exam preparation
resources for engineers.
Effective
in April, the National Council of Examiners for Engineering
and Surveying (NCEES) - the governing council for engineer
examinations -- updated its list of recommended standards
to include the 2000 IBC as a reference for the Professional
Engineering (P.E.) exam. In anticipation of this change, Kaplan
AEC Engineering, Kaplan's business unit serving the architecture,
engineering and construction industries, partnered with ICC
to make the UBC-IBC Comparison & Cross-Reference
Guide and 2000 IBC available to P.E. exam candidates.
With Kaplan AEC's recent acquisition of Engineering Press,
the partnership also creates access to a series of engineering
exam preparation titles by prestigious authors.
"Working
with Kaplan, a worldwide leader in educational services, provides
a perfect fit for ICC in offering industry-leading study materials
for the P.E. exam. The examinees and engineering community
will benefit from this partnership," says ICC Vice President
of Business Development Mark Johnson.
"The
combination of Kaplan's test prep leadership, NCEES's expertise
and Engineering Press's premium content provide an unparalleled
educational resource for Professional Engineers," says
Eric Cantor, President of Kaplan's Professional Services Division,
which includes Kaplan AEC.
Kaplan
has been providing educational and career services to students,
schools, professionals and business worldwide for more than
65 years. Kaplan is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Washington
Post Company and its largest revenue generator, with $838
million in revenue in 2003. For more information about Kaplan,
