The
State of Washington requires that if a home inspection
report is being used during a real estate transaction
where transfer, exchange, or refinancing is involved,
the inspector must be a licensed Structural Pest Inspector
(SPI) in order to report a condition where wood destroying
organisms (WDO) are evident.
This
course covers many different wood-infesting pests
and fungi, and includes signs of their presence, conditions
that could lead to the development of WDO, what to
include in a WDO report, how inspectors can effectively
diagram their findings, as well as preparation for
the state's Structural Pest Inspector (SPI) examination.
If you are planning on becoming a Washington State
Home Inspector, this course is essential! If you already have a current SPI license, this class is approved for 8 hours of continuing education credits from Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA).*
Class requires 2-4 hours of pre-class study.
