Preparation
We
believe that a combination of classroom, field training and
home study are appropriate for full comprehension and retention
of the course. Kaplan provides you with a library of reference
books and materials. Study guides and videos will be provided
and approximately 120 hours of homework are part of this course.
The homework should be completed before taking the course
in order to achieve maximum benefit from the course. (Homework
also can be completed after taking the course.)

Course (Module 5) - 5 Days
This comprehensive 5 day training program is designed to meet the requirements of obtaining 40 hours of field-based training under the direct supervision of a home inspector licensed by New York State, or a professional engineer or architect regulated by New York State who oversees and takes full responsibility for the inspection and any report produced. This course focuses on the hands-on aspect of residential inspections and requires students to participate in numerous on-site home inspections and includes the completion of a comprehensive inspection report for each.
