Gas Forced Air Furnace Inspection Certification Course - 3 Days
Day 1 & 2 Only
Day 3 Only

Day One

Characteristics of a Gas Flame: Properties of natural gas, Range of flammability, Specific gravity, Toxicity, Temperature required for ignition, Identifying the proper flame, Luminous flames, blue & orange flames, Products of combustion, Carbon Monoxide.

Working with Test Instruments, are they for You?
: Low voltage electrical test instruments, High voltage test instruments, Multi meters & CO Detectors.

Vent System Operation
: Purpose of vents, System components, How vents work, Servicing vents, Unsatisfactory conditions, Performing the proper inspection.


Day Two

Residential Space Heating: Wall furnaces, Principles of operation & inspection, Floor Furnace/Gravity Furnace, Principles of operation & inspection

Forced Air Heating
: Principles of operation, Performing the best inspection, Diagnosing problems, Understanding repair recommendations

Day Three - Optional Certification

Overview of first two days, Written exam, Hands-on exam of operating Gas Forced Air Furnaces. Upon completion and passing of exams a certificate of completion will be issued to you. Certification Testing Day - $175.

Who should attend?

This course is designed for an individual who is currently a residential/commercial inspector, who understands the basic components and terms of gas forced air furnaces. Max. class size 10 students.

Meet The Instructor
Joe Zaabadick has 39 years of experience in the Gas Industry, the first 35 years with the Southern California Gas Company. Joe has more than twenty-two years of experience as a professional trainer, training approximately three thousand Gas Company employees and conducting over fifteen hundred training seminars in the public sector. These were attended by more than thirty thousand people interested in training or information in the safe utilization of natural gas.

As a private consultant, Joe has been called on to do presentations and seminars for organizations throughout the country (Williams Comfort Products, PHCC-Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors, So. Calif. Air Conditioner Distr., CREIA-California Real Estate Inspection Assoc., OREIA-Oregon Real Estate Inspection Assoc., ASHI-American Society of Home Inspectors, WIN-World Inspection Network). Invited to speak in many cities in both Northern and Southern California, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, New Jersey and Florida as well as Canada, Joe has been asked back again and again to give his demonstrations, which is a clear indication to the value placed on his presentations.
