The principles of forced air systems are introduced and topics such as combustion air, prohibited locations and various types of forced air furnaces area discussed. Heat exchanger defect recognition and oil heating is emphasized by scores of illustrations and real-world photographs. |

Detect Forced Air Defects – 4 hours
This 4-hour online study course covers focuses on gas-forced air units including low-efficiency, induced draft and high-efficiency furnaces for residential heating inspection. Filtration, blower and thermostat concerns are discussed as is ductwork deficiencies and problematic ductwork installations and defects. Also discussion of hot water heating and defects commonly observed with those systems. |

Feel The Heat – 4 hours
This 4-hour online study course discusses steam heating and venting of all gas appliances for residential heating inspection. Venting, venting defects and problematic vents are discussed, along with less common heating units such as wall furnaces and floor furnaces. Air conditioning is introduced and explained detailing the refrigeration cycle. |

This 4-hour online study course covers air handlers, specifically blowers and their defects for residential heating inspection. Also covered are evaporator and compressor inspection and defects. Heat Pumps and other systems are discussed including A/C ducting, refrigeration defects, evaporative coolers and heat recovery and energy recovery ventilators. |
