Kaplan Professional Acquires Premier Provider of Home Inspection Training With Five Schools Across the U.S.

Kaplan Professional Schools (Kaplan) to Become Part of Kaplan Professional Schools

NEW YORK, June 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Kaplan Professional, a division of Kaplan, Inc., today announced that it has acquired Kaplan Professional Schools (Kaplan), a premier provider of home inspection training in the U.S. Kaplan will become part of Kaplan Professional Schools, which provide real estate, insurance and securities licensing and continuing education programs through live classroom instruction, Internet-based learning, and correspondence courses.
This move expands the Kaplan Professional Schools into new markets in Illinois, Florida, California, Virginia and Connecticut.

Kaplan offers a full suite of home inspection training resources including business start-up support, reporting documentation and software systems. Founded in 1987, Kaplan became the first licensed school for home inspection in the U.S. in 1992. Since then, Kaplan has served over 16,500 students across the country through classroom instruction, correspondence courses and related products. Kevin O'Malley, founder and President of Kaplan, will continue in his role. "This will enable us to benefit from Kaplan's leading technologies, financial resources and operational support," said O'Malley.

With the addition of Kaplan, there are now ten Kaplan Professional Schools across the country. These include Anthony Schools in California; Leonard-Hawes Real Estate Schools in Texas; Jones College in Colorado; The Dearborn Real Estate Institute in New Mexico; and ProSource Educational Services in Minnesota. In 2002, these schools served more than 150,000 students.
